Open Tap - Drink Poison: Let's Fix It written by Thomas Volinchak, is an informative guide not only for domestic consumers but also for people in industries related to water usability in any way, especially those aiming to combat climate change, which could lead to water shortages.
This book will educate you about the scientific aspects of water in simple and comprehensible language. It explains what water is chemically, the reality of its various forms on Earth, how it behaves when interacting with other materials, how it gets polluted, and the best options for making it drinkable and usable, depending on its intended purpose.
While the most important purpose of this writing is to educate readers about the drastic effects of climate change on the quantity and quality of water on Earth, it also offers solutions to combat these challenges in the best possible way.
What I enjoyed while reading this book is that, although it is a highly niche-specific work, it maintains the reader's interest by sharing interesting facts about water first and describing its unique properties. After that, the book takes readers on a step-by-step journey through the problems related to water usability and availability for different consumers, along with detailed insights into potential solutions. This is why I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in becoming literate about this topic. Hats off to the writer for combining all the relevant information in a smooth manner that retains the reader's interest until the last page.
